Album Notes

To make a long story short. Back in the end of year 2008, Goran Danielsson Hjertstedt and Ulf Holmberg got to know each other. They immediately discovered that they shared the same musical roots and attitude towards life – in other words collaboration was inevitable. During the past years the musical creativity has grown between these musicians and “Longplayer” is the result. Their first album is ready to hit the world’s musical landscape.

Goran Danielsson Hjertstedt has been working in the music business since his adolescent. He has written a lot of songs to famous established performers but is mostly known as the lead singer in the band The Visitors, who had a lot of success all over the world during the 1980’s and 1990’s. The Visitors earned a Grammy for the best pop production 1990 and was also part of the big musical event in Sweden, Melodifestivalen, that year. Additionally, Goran formed the group Brains Beat Beaty together with the Swedish megastar Ian Haugland (who was part of the group Europe) in the end of the 1990’s.

The Swedish guitar player Ulf ’Mighty Shadow’ Holmberg has been portrayed as a master of genuine, retro brand instrumental guitar rock. Ulf is a musical jack of trade. He has played with many Swedish and international musicians such as Billy Bremner (Dave Edmunds and Rockpile) and Linda Gail Lewis (sister of Jerry Lee Lewis). His wide repertoire includes instrumental guitar rock, blues, jazz, progressive rock, folk songs, and not the least – rock’n’roll. Ulf is also a music producer. He writes music of his own and in co-work with other musicians and songwriters. In his ‘Space Place Studio’, he offers music production services to artists.
