After a year at Berklee College of Music, Loni moved to New York City to further her musical career, studying at Mannes College of Music, the New School Guitar Studies Center and with numerous vocal teachers including Juiliard graduate Mary Feinsinger. She has performed in various venues around New York City including: The Bitter End, The Living room, The Cutting Room, the C Note, CB's Gallery and the Knitting Factory.
A former member of the Nashville Songwriters Association, she was accepted into their annual song camp studying with hit songwriters, John Ims, Angela Kasset, Ralph Murphy and most notably Hugh Prestwood. Loni has participated in various conferences and seminars including the Songwriters Expo in Los Angeles, the Philadelphia Music Conference, the Guitar Institute songwriter's workshop in Nashville, Tennessee, SXSW in Austin, Texas, and the Independent Music Forum. In the Fall of 2001 Loni was chosen to participate in the BMI professional songwriter's workshop.
With the guidance of producer Godfrey Diamond, Loni produced a three song demo of original music. One of her songs "Forever" received an award of merit from the Unisong International Song Contest. With the help of some friends, the demo tape found its way to music industry veteran and well known concert promoter, Ron Delesner whose encouragement inspired Loni to continue writing and to go on to complete her latest cd, PIECES produced in 2000 by Steve Dwire.
Loni is currently performing around New York City and writing new material for her second cd.
Loni was recently seen on a Fox Five Network televsion special segment on Paul Colby and the Bitter End. You can view the segment on her website www.lonipont.com.

spare and devastating
author: clint
The spare but well-targeted music allows Loni Pont's emotive vocals to carry the album. Some of the most affecting music you'll ever hear. When you add the music to the true tragedy that this is currently her only album, you might want to order some zoloft along with this mandatory CD purchase.

Pieces are falling nicely into place
author: Graham
The first sign of a great album is being able to play it without wanting to skip to the next track. The second sign is finding that it’s growing on you. The third sign is finding that no other album really matters. The fourth sign is returning to it to discover that it sounds even better than when you first fell in love with it.
At the moment I’m at sign three.
