Album Notes

The CD debuts Native American lead guitarist Kenny Sequoia Lewis and features songs that tell a story of overcoming life’s challenges.

The recording’s first single “Your Not Alone” is already playing on radio stations and receiving nods from the music industry. “Jan Michael’s ‘Breakin’ Free’ is as good as a rock recording gets”, Ken Tripe (National Music Today), “His music has evolved into a true force in contemporary rock.”

Winner for “Artist of the Year” at the prestigious 11th Annual Native American Music Awards in 2009 for his debut flute rock CD, Jan Michael turns up the heat with 12 original tracks in ‘Breakin’ Free’. Several venues for 2010 are already planned for The Jan Michael Looking Wolf Band to perform the CD live, including a small tour in the U.K., concerts on native reservations, and the world beat festival.

‘Breakin’ Fee’ is also part of a project that will reach out to Native American youth drug and alcohol prevention programs across the country, with music videos of the band and a clear message of sobriety, native pride, and equity for all people.
