Album Notes
LOOP!STATION was formed in july 2002 by Sam Bass and Robin Coomer almost by accident. Robin asked Sam if he would come and play some cello at her upcoming photography show. He convinced Robin to join him and his new favorite tool the loop station. After going to the music store and getting her own, they only had two rehearsals before the opening thinking they would only play one show. But after an overwhelming crowd response and sixty five new emails on a list, they decided to play again, and again... Their first c.d. 'conversations with water' was released in july 2003 with amazing response. Suddenly what had started out as an escape for these two classically trained musicians from their respective rock bands, (Deadweight and Birdsaw) and the pressures of writing the 'perfect' 3:30 second pop song, had turned into an escape for their listeners as well. LOOP!STATION sample themselves live and 'loop' the parts creating honest and unique compositions. The shows are intense, captivating. When you get the album home and it sounds just like the show you just saw, it becomes very apparent that LOOP!STATION is operating in a world all its own, a world that is really freaking awesome...

Loop!Station have mastered the art of live looping technology.
Loop!Station's debut album "Conversations With Water" reflects suttle moods with deeply beautiful layers of music. Most memorable is the penultimate track "Fandango" which perfectly integrates all of Loop!Station's greatest strengths. Complex sound sculptures are created using multiple loops cleverly correographed together.

One Hell of a Debut Album!
This is a captivating recording from one of the most sensual and original acts from the Bay Area. Absolutely beautiful and haunting, these sounds will seep into your subconscience and stay in your head for days. Impossible to categorize, but sure to strike a chord no matter what kind of music you are into. A magnificent album.

Great Debut Album
A great first effort by Loop!station. Robin Coomer's vocals are fantastic as always and the music matches them very well.

Vertical Pool Productions

music for the soundtrack of precision delirium
I am among the fortunate to have first heard Loop!Station live and the very first to feature their songs in a film soundtrack, my 2003 feature, "Under a Shipwrecked Moon". Ever since, the romance has burned brightly with three more tracks included in my new feature, "The Greater Circulation" (2005). I mention my films because they reflect the visionary force of this music and the seductive tilt-a-whirl feelings of their uplifting melodies with mellifulous precision. Gush, gush, gush... buy this CD. You will not hear anything else like it and it will grow on you like a long distance love affair (without the outrageous phone bill).

One of my favorite CD's, very memorable, watching them perform live is a great treat.
