Album Notes

Loose Change plays all original music which is a mixture of Hip-Hop, Rock, Funk, and Jazz. We have played many venues in the Lafayette area including: Lafayette Brewing Company, Rowdy's, Pete's, Hooligans, Jerilees Pub, Champs Sports Bar, The Knickerbocker, Zeta Psi Fraternity, and various local parties. We have also branched out and played at Birdy's, The Melody, and Zanies Too in Indianapolis. We participated and reached the final round of the Purdue Battle of the Bands as well as the final round in the Center Stage Concert Series sponsored by The Rocket 95.7 FM. We were featured in local publications as one of five bands in the Lafayette Journal & Courier to breakout of the local scene in 2005 and a feature band in the Purdue Exponent. We were also named band of the month for January 2005 by Third Leg, a supporter for live local music.

The great chemistry between musicians during live sets must be seen to be believed. Loose Change often jumps into jam sessions allowing each musician to effectively communicate with each other as well as the crowd. Freestyle verses are done by both vocalists while the instrumentalists often break off into different musical realms; sometimes mixing into a jazz or latin feel. A good thing to watch for is how Loose Change incoporates the DJ into the music. The DJ can often be heard playing basslines to certains songs, allowing the bass player more freedom musically. Multiple members of the band can play several instruments, which helps create a sense of understanding during improv sessions. Always looking for a good time, Freestyle emcees are always invited to join Loose Change onstage as a solid beat, perhaps even a familiar hip-hop beat by the Neptunes or The Roots, is played in support of the freestyle. Such creativity is a mere glimpse into the world of Loose Change.
