(How Loose Ends came about) Acoustic a la Music Deluxe!
Back in August of 2005, longtime musicians Gerald Chism and Dennis McBride, both residing in Springfield, Missouri, had been backing up other bands, while at the same time, had been forming their own group. One Thursday evening they were on the town square in Ozark, Missouri jamming with other musicians in the area. There was a "new kid" in town, kind of shy, a little hesitant to join in, but with a little coaxing, began to come forth a little.
Over a relatively short period of time, Gerald noticed a certain potential in this new guy, (from the California "Bay" area), and since he and Dennis were looking for another "double" or "triple" threat to help round out their group, asked Bobby DeWitt if he was playing with anyone. He said that he wasn't, so, long story short, Loose Ends was born.
Soon after, in December 2005, Laura Bastedo (from upstate New York), was brought into the fold to provide percussion, flute and the female vocal flavor to the group, and Loose Ends headed to the recording studio in January, just three months after forming. In 28 short recording hours, these twelve songs were recorded, (*tracks 1,4,6,7,8,10,11 are originals), all vocals and instrumentals on separate tracks, knocking out a complete song about every 2 1/2 hours! In fact, Gerald wrote "How Can You Say" on a Wednesday, it was practiced on Thursday night, and recorded on Friday night!
Now folks, these songs were, of course, mixed in the studio, but Loose Ends sounds exactly like this cd when performing live! There are no studio musicians used...everything you hear on the cd is everything you hear live! All the instrumentation, percussion, and vocals are NOT overdubbed, it's just as it's performed!
Thanks goes out to Jonathan David Brown at Watercress Studios for his recording expertise and his fabulous "Nuendo" recording platform.... Jonathan has been instrumental in the past, working with the likes of Glen Campbell, Vince Gill, Ricky Skaggs, Petra, and others)!......So, with that little piece of history being told.....
From straight out of the beautiful hills and hollers (yeah, we really do actually say hollers), of the beautiful, scenic southern Missouri Ozarks, comes dynamic, distinctive vocal harmonies that will soothe your soul like a cool, mountain stream on a scorching summer day!

Loose Ends reaches back to make an old sound new again..
author: jeanie evans/91.3 fm's Bluegrass on the Hill--rsu.edu/krsc/fmThe Loose Ends cd is a quality production, both talent-wise and otherwise. The fresh new songs are interesting and enjoyable; for instance, the whimsical "Lure Hunting", which is sure to bring a smile. Loose Ends reaches back to make an old sound new again. With smooth harmonies, and original songs that are performed well and produced well, this cd has all the ingredients for success. Despite the name, no "loose ends" here!
Pa vag till logdansen. Loose Ends trivis/Missouri Levande Folkpop
author: Gert-Ove Fridlund, Hallandsposten, Swedencd review by Gert-Ove Fridlund, Hallandsposten, Sweden, October 2006 Loose Ends: "Loose Ends" (Cd-Baby/Import) AKUSTISKA GITARRER ochmandolin, nagon gang flojt och tamburin. Ert guldkorn i independentfloran. Great harmonies, great lyrics, excellent musicians, fresh sound

You've got to hear this band!
author: Scott SmithGood stuff!Very uplifting and spirited music. This is what good Ozark Mountain music is about.Buy this CD and you won't be disappointed unless you don't have a heart or soul.
Buy it and support great music.
author: BrianI have never cared for the song, "The Rose" mainly because of an "over-done" personal experiece as a yoot(youth) and frankly the person who used to sing it. (I think she was famous at one point.) Loose Ends have made a believer out of me. You CAN save a poor lost song! Listen to this song and one other one and you will buy this CD. "Meant to Be" is MY song on this album. Make it your song today.
