Album Notes

It's ROCK... It's ROLL... and it's happening in a barn in Ohio. Based out of the capitol city of Columbus (with barns a-plenty), LORI only boasts one Ohio native (other home states include Texas, Kansas, and Michigan) yet their hooky pop numbers undeniably reference Ohio IndieRock veterans like The Sun and Guided By Voices... it could be the air, or the barn... or the air in the barn, or something. Either way, it's something.

LORI consciously draws inspiration from even older classics, from the Byrds to the B-52's to Neil Diamond, with each member bringing something incredible and diverse to the mix, be it skill, lack of skill, mystery, or plain idiocy... but at the end of the day, this foursome shares an admirable obsession with music and a true heartfelt desire to rock the crap out of whomever will listen.

Desperate to induce good times, LORI is not EMO, and is even loosely driven to contrast the mopey doom and gloom of current music trends with fist pumping hooky pop anthems and three minute shake-that-ass guitar romps... "If it's not fun for us, how could it be fun for you?"

LORI CANTU: GUITAR/BASS & MISC. ROCK AND ROLL VOODOO
Lori left her job typesetting wedding invitations in her hometown of Dallas, TX for a more inspiring life in the Midwest... "I just needed more excitement in my life..." says the 25 year old, "and I knew I could find it in Columbus, OH."... "Did you get all of that? None of it's true. I lied for the money."

JOHN DORCAS: DRUMS & MYSTERY
Hometown: Lawrence, KS (kind of) Bands: Nighthawk, The Rhythm Method

MIKE (ZOOM) SZUMLINSKI: ANGRY GUITAR AND BASS
Mike's rock-hard roots started when he first watched Pantera's Vulgar Video. Before that time he was into pussy hippy bands. He hails from somewhere just outside of Detroit, MI

MIKE BREWER: DUDE SINGING IN ALLEGED MOCK-ENGLISH ACCENT AND GUITARS
He takes a lot of shit for singing with a slight accent. Mike says people are just misunderstanding his annunciation and whining (uncommon in american music). "Those bastards from the UK have been trying to sound like Elvis since the Beatles - so what's good for the goose is good for the gander (and Bob Pollard does it too.)"
