Album Notes

Evergreen Heart is a CD collection inspired by the raga system of ancient India. This music of tranquility and relaxation features the soothing sound of flute performed by Lori Schneider and the hypnotic rhythms of Tabla performed by Kinnar Seen. Tracks 1,3, and 4 were recorded live and consist of both traditional Indian compositions as well as instrumental improvization. Track 2 contains a haunting backdrop of vocal and keyboards, and Track 5 has a touch of shimmering guitar harmonics, bringing an ethereal trance-like quality.

As a child Lori Schneider always had a fascintation for the rich artistic culture of India. In high school, a friend gave her a book called "The Mysticism of Sound" by Hazrat Inayat Khan. This book intrigued her greatly and she hoped one day to find the right teacher who could share this unique and sacred art. After pursuing her many other music interests in classical,rennaisance and classic rock over the years, she met Kinnar Seen in December 2005. Since then, she has been seriously studying the ancient raga system of Indian music under his guidance. "The devotion and purity of this music and its timeless quality has been such a source of inspiration and has brought me even deeper into the heart of music. This CD has been a labor of love and I hope others will enjoy listening to it as much as I enjoyed recording it"
