Album Notes

Born in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, Lorraine's first influence was Ella Fitzgerald. She began her career with a big band and for several years, her home was Montreal where she performed regularly in major jazz clubs, supper clubs and hotels. Lorraine has performed across Canada, in Ireland, and on national radio and television.

In 1982, Lorraine moved back to Toronto to continue her career and in 1991 settled in Vancouver, BC, joining the legendary Dal Richards Orchestra as his lead vocalist for more than a decade. Returning to her first love, she has performed at the leading jazz clubs and the Du Maurier Jazz Festivals in Toronto, Saskatoon and Vancouver.

Lorraine's latest project is a tribute to Rosemary Clooney, featuring her early hits and later jazz standards recorded with the Concord label.

***************

"Lorraine has been singing for many years and her voice has not lost a beat. She can be seen playing the smaller clubs and bistros in Vancouver and other major cities. I watched her recently singing songs from her CD "We'll Meet Again" and the grace and tenderness with which she handles a song like " A Nightingale Sang in Berkley Square" melt the ice cubes in your drink"
