Album Notes

The best live act in the brazilian underground scene, Los Pirata is a terrific band with a bizarre line-up. They are brazilians, pose like mexicans and play like... Pixies. Their music is simple, stripped down and it howls the surf music. But despite its simplicity, there's something here that goes deeper. They sound really powerful and nice. Paco Garcia (guitar and vocals), Loco Sosa (drums and vocals) and Jesus Sanches (bass and vocals) produce a bunch of catchy tunes, perfectly concise anthems, with dirty electric guitar cranked to superb amplification. Not to mention crashing kid's drums. They don't innovate rock, but they send the kids to the garage. And that is a great thing. Come on, Jack White. Los Pirata is your favourite opening band. You just don't know it yet.
