This album is actually one long story that spans the course of four years. One song is about not having sex for a long time, then having some. It gets a bit darker after that, with "Early Riser" and "Communion".

Album Notes

The title "Silverback Mirror" I think I'm realizing now is about looking in the mirror and seeing more than what is actually there. Other people may see something else.

My favorite song on the album "Captain at Shore Leave" came to me after dancing with a girl at a bar that was dancing really close.

I recorded the music in my house in Seattle, mostly in the basement. The stomping for "Captain at Shore Leave" was actually upstairs on the wooden floors. Luckily I didn't have roommates that minded too much. The piano itself, for "Communion", came from a musician Ben Sellon of Black Water Collective, it's a great upright Cecilian, I was lucky to be able to use it.

Influences include Weezer, Cake, Elliot Smith, Billy Joel, Elton John, The Band, a lot of great 80s rock, and hermitism.

The art comes from comic book artist Chuck Knigge. Other help and support comes from my family, especially Katie Quigley. Friends, Bart Cameron, Ethan Caunt, Eric Anderson, Willow Batista, Jacob Cox, Chris Ferns, Jessi Kempin, Mike Wilson, Groundspeak, and Batman.
