Album Notes

Lotta Karlstedt is a vocalist of German-Swedish origin living in Amsterdam since 1998. Here she studied jazz-vocals at the famous local Conservatory. She had the opportunity work with phenomenal vocalists, such as Mark Murphy and Nancy Marano and attended master classes from Bobby McFerrin, Dianne Reeves and Tuck and Patty.
During her studies, she also went to Sweden where she explored Swedish Shepard-music and Scandinavian Folk. These influences gave her own sound and music the final touch. With her band, Lotta Karlstedt Band she is now increasingly performing internationally. Her latest CD is called “A Wish in the Dark” and was released in December 2006

This is what the German and Dutch press wrote about "A Wish In The Dark":

Karlstedt has a capturing voice with a wide range that she handles in a skilful way. (...) ..... she is able to truly engage the listener...An outstanding band that deserves the attention of a widespread audience.

Frank Huser, Jazzflits

A very fine production, that is what we most certainly can say about "A Wish In The Dark"... obviously her heart is singing to us on this CD.....not only a proven gifted singer, but she also composed four of the songs...

Arnoldus, Music from NL

Jazz-demand and Pop-appeal combined on a high level.
