In 2007 flutist Mark Alban Lotz felt the urge to present and perform improvised music in his hometown utrecht. In Marcel Kranendonk (director of the sju jazzpodium) and long time musical partner Meinrad Kneer he found the perfect people to set the whole thing up. Now in 2011 we can look back at approximately +/- 120 concerts with a truly impressive line-up of great improvisors from literally all over the globe. After three years of its existence we wanted to document our musical adventures with some of the friends and colleagues who participated through the years. We organized two dates in a tiny cellar studio in Amsterdam and the one's who could make it, passed by. Unfortunately, drummers and pianists couldn’t participate, because there was neither space to set up a drum set, nor was there a suitable piano in ben’s studio. This cd presents not only some of the established improvisers of the multinational dutch improv scene, but also some proponents of a new vibrant generation.
