Album Notes

I am a multi woodwind instrumentalist and have been performing in the new york city area for quite some time. I have had experience in almost every area of the music world and have performed with jazz greats like richard williams duke jordan chris white, richie cole turk muro, howard johnson, jaki byard and billy taylor as well as such headliners as lou rawls, shirley basey, cab calloway bpobby short etc.
Stylisticly i have been able to project a traditional modern jazz approach to the alto and baritone saxophone that is flexable enough to sound at home in more contemporay settings. In regard to the clarinet I feel I have a unique approach that has more to do with the essence of jazz then clarinet pyrotecnics although sound wise I have been compared to Buddy DeFranco. On the flute which I have done a considerable amount of study I follow the same approach as on clarinet, I try to keep it swinging but use a full and developed sound. In regard to the soprano saxophone I an very gratified to tell you that very often people will say to me " I don't normally like the soprano, but i like the way you play it" or "Thats the best soprano sound i ever heard" I hope that doesn't sound like boasting.
Urban still life is my first endevor under my owen name and as stated it is an attempt to create a musical picture of sights and sounds I have seen and heard in my years around new york city

Lou caputo should be better known worldwide, because ther is nothing wrong in that music, and he is equaly good on every instrument which is a performence by itself. I personally would like to hear him more on clarinet!!
