Album Notes

Louie LeClaire has enjoyed playing music for over twenty years. Originally from the panhandle, Louie moved to Jacksonville to study Jazz at The University of North Florida. After years of playing the East Coast and Europe as a accompanying musician, Louie started writing and performing his own music.

At the end of 2005, Louie teamed with upright bassist and luthier Jonathan Plant to expand on the music he was now performing out. Plant, known for his simple-but-tasteful style of playing complimented Louie's laid back, soulful sound. Playing out as a duet garnered a positive response and small following.

In the summer of 2006, Louie enlisted long time friend and former bandmate Brian Jenkins. Jenkins made a name for himself in the Jacksonville music scene as versatile drummer and percussionist. Whether touring, working in the studio, or even composing indie movie scores, Jenkins is known for the positive energy he brings any project.

Playing regularly over the next year, the trio gained a following in the Riverside area of Jacksonville. The local success prompted them to go into the studio to begin work on the bands first CD.

Released in December 2008, Louie LeClaire with Brian Jenkins and Jonathan Plant features seven songs with a sound that has been described as eclectic acoustic pop. Louie and his bandmates plan to tour the U.S. and parts of Europe to promote the CD and expand their audience.
