Highway 61 Memories

by Louie Ludwig

New Orleans' "iconoclast" singer-songwriter teams up with Thibodeaux's swampgrass quartet on a delicate ballad penned by Ludwig and Anders Osborne, with special guest appearances by Bart Ramsey on accordion and Theresa Andersson on backing vocals; a gem.

Album Notes
The first track released from the album "Elevation 13." Cut in a cypress beadboard house in Thibodeaux, Louisiana, this tender ballad shows off both the Moss Picers' playing and the strength of Ludwig's collaboration with New Orleans songwriter and guitarist Anders Osborne. With Matt Sylvest on bass, Billy Finney and Brent "Moon" Melacon on guitars and Pat Sylvest on dobro, laced through with Ramsey's accordion, the track is a solid, homespun platform for the delicate lyric. Andersson's pure, vulnerable backing vocals add the final, heart-busting touch.

This is truly a great cut, and every download brings us closer to pressing and distributing the album, so please consider buying a copy today, and one for a friend. Heck, one for an ex, even.
