notes

Born and raised in Louisiana I was exposed to Louisiana music at an early age. Jazz, Cajun, and Swamp Pop are part of the Louisiana music legacy. These musical art forms combined with popular music culminate in my unique style of playing.

I was raised listening to The Beatles. Looking back I realize they were the most innovative recording group in the history of recorded music. My mother and I would sit and listen to them for hours when I was very young.

In my early teens I was turned onto the Freddie King album "Burglar." I cut my musical bluesy teeth on this record. I also played in the Jazz Ensemble in my high school, which gave me a new perspective on the way blues is to be played. From there I moved on to The Allman Brothers Band, Eric Clapton, John Mayhall, and many others. I sought new material that was not in the Top 40.

I began working clubs when I was 17. Eventually I would work for Louisiana Music Living Legend Clint West, founding member of popular Louisiana Band The Boogie Kings. A seven year stint with West taught my everything about professionalism both onstage and off.

I have been recording almost as long as I have played clubs professionally. From the 1990s to date I have logged thousands of studio hours.

I was fascinated by the process and learned everything I possibly could about good production. I now engineer, produce, and master my own CDs with great professional grade computer software.
