“Love At 2nd Sight” is the first release from seasoned veterans of the local music scene. King spent 10 years in the Nashville writing community developing her craft. Lam enjoyed local success with bands such as Ivory Tower and Love Revolution. Hornibrook’s lead guitar session work has appeared on major label releases such as R. Kelly’s 2010 “Untitled”. And both Frese and Oakley have over 20 years of local performances under their respective belts.
“Love At 2nd Sight” has a passionate, live-sounding edge that harkens back to the music the quintet grew up on back in the day, music they still love to play today. The band is known for its crystalline vocals — all five members sing out with feeling. For comparison, think Heart meets Fleetwood Mac meets Thin Lizzy. The CD contains 11 original songs, from the snarling roar of “Cellophane People” to the sleepily desperate “Fall Out Of Bed” to the playfully rocking “Bad Gurl”. Each cut is a unique treat, a blistering testament to the emotions from which each song was born.
The band will be promoting the CD with a series of local “CD Release Events” for their fans at several area venues during the month of September 2011 and beyond. The CD will be available for sale via CD Baby and iTunes in either digital download or CD formats, and also at all of their area shows.
