Album Notes

The Love Drums are a group of drummers in Nashville, Tennessee who love West African, Middle Eastern and latin percussion based music. This CD is a live recording engineered by a professional studio engineer, Joe Funderburk. The Love Drums host a monthy community drum and dance event they call the Whizbang. This recording was done at a Whizbang in April of 2004. The songs on this CD are inspired by great drummers like Mamady Keita, Ubaka Hill and Babatundi Olatunji. Ed Haggard, a drum maker, teacher, drum circle facilitator, actor and poet leads the group and produces The Love Drums Radio Hour available at radiofreenashville.org.
