Album Notes

Love is Chemicals (the band, not the album) formed in 2001 in San Francisco. Since then they have moved gradually away from the overt Pavement and Built To Spill homages on display on their first (self-recorded, self-released, and now very out of print) album Lucky Me, Lucky Mud, and taken the spirit of lush, rough-edged, exuberant guitar pop to a place where wistful melodies and gauzy shoegazer atmospherics meet dense layers of scrubby, squealy Archers of Loaf-esque guitars. Love is Chemicals (the album, not the band) was recorded in October 2004 at Tiny Telephone in San Francisco, with invaluable assistance from recording engineer par excellence Aaron Prellwitz (Alaska!, Hella, Sun Kil Moon) and producer/spiritual guru Christian Hanlon (Unbunny, The Ebb & Flow).

This cd is a must for any music fans collection. It is so nice to hear something refreshing and new then the usual manufactured music that gets constantly churned out. Will definately be checking this band out again in the future

LOVE this CD. I find myself harmonizing automatically while singing along...especially with "Everyone is in on it". Lyrics are creative; I especially like "Claw Your Sweater", and "Aquamarine". Guitar is rockin' in "Aquamarine". Oh man, the whole thing is awesome, so just buy it!
