Guru Singh
Carlos was born and raised in Mexico City. His musical journey started at 8 years old as a drummer. The influences of African Beats, Trance, Ambient, Dub, and Pop are brought together seamlessly in his style.
Passionate for sound, he graduated in 1992, with a degree in Music Production and Recording Engineering at Trebas Institute of Recordings Arts in California. His further research has led him into the field of music therapy including techniques such as: Music thru colors, Rhythmic medicine, and Vibrational music for the Chakras.
He has composed several soundtracks for Films and documentaries, plays and choreographies such as: "Crossover"(for Showtime), "Ex Voto" (AFI),
"Lacam Tum" (BBC), "Eternal Mexico" (INHA), and more.
On two occasions, he has had the opportunity to co-produce and compose music for the solstice Festival performed by a full orchestra surrounded by the magnetic forces of the pyramids of Tajin Mexico.
Carlos is a two-time Emmy Award winner, and is a well known sound engineer on the West Coast. He has worked with a wide variety of artists such as: Bjork, Radiohead, Stevie Wonder, Bowie, Dylan, Sugar Ray, Gloria Estefan, Marc Anthony, Deep forest, and many more.
It is the magic of bringing together diverse cultural forms of music that truly fascinates him. He has just finished recording his first album
" Love pass filter" with co-producer Rosana Costello, and 13 talented world musicians. The result is an exquisite combination of chilled out healing music full of ethnic melodies, empowering lyrics, and tribal beats. From meditative states to the celebration of dance music, this album is a unique journey of love.

one of the best CDs ever!!!
author: Erini am so pleased with this CD. i came across track #5: temple from a friend who DJs. i wanted to get this song for myself and only found it on two CDs, this being one of them. i debated which of the two i should get. i listened to track samples on different web pages and finally decided that i should go with Love Pass Filter. i couldn't be happier. it's an amazing compilation. if you like deep ambient world/electronica music this is the CD for you. plus, CD Baby's prices are amazing!
