Album Notes

The second CD from LA's Loverlee is more of what you love. 10 new tracks (and one remix) of organic indie pop, folk, and everything inbetween. Loverlee is made up of five people and a whole lot of instruments- a mix of traditional (guitars, keyboard), “kid” toys (casios, whistles, a junior drumset), and band class hand-me-downs (mandolin, flute, upright bass). The result is collection of songs melding many genres that come off as organic, fun, and uplifting. Brought together in late 2005 by Justin Riner, whom the LA Times said “plays musical mad scientist” (Buzz Bands, March 2002), Loverlee brings a down-to-earth and light-hearted sound to the overly product conscious LA music scene. Jason Krane (guitar, bass, mandolin), Lauren Brooks (keyboard, guitar), Genevieve Kwong (keyboard, bass, flute), and Valerie Ngai (upright and electric bass, drums) join Riner (drums, guitar, accordion) to create a feeling of familiarity and spontaneity by dipping into a larger variety of sound
