Lovisa Liljeberg is one of Sweden's foremost young folk singers. Her roots go deep down the Swedish folk music tradition, but influenced by many other genres, she open-mindedly creates her own style and way of singing. This is her first solo album, produced and recorded by the singer herself, as a part of her graduation from the folk music department at The Royal Academy of Music, in Stockholm. The album is recorded together with David Eriksson on keyed fiddle, hurdy-gurdy, and zither, and Daniel Ek on guitars and mandolin.
Traditional songs from Lovisa's home country Värmland, is given new life with inspiration from genres such as bluegrass, blues and rock. Old songs are made to be stories of the present, stories that fit a woman of today.
"Lovisa's voice is like velvet, and adorned with a phrasing art that's totally impossible to get away from. You almost loose your breath when she with stunning articulation allows you to taste all the majestic melancholy that lives in these songs." - Värmlands folkblad.
