Masterpiece
author: Richard J Cormier
I've been tracking JT's progress as a musician for well over a decade, and am extremely impressed at what he has been able to accomplish with this record. The Lovelies simply couldn't be more talented - and JT has managed to capture a powerful combination of styles and genres that have ultimately defined what can now be recognized uniquely as his own. “Black Eyed Susan” is an instant classic, and “Old Joe” swings like Voodoo Daddy. From the up-beat, scratchy horn in “Behaving Like a Dog,” to the very emotional and melodic power of “Broken You” – the range of song writing and pure musicianship makes this collection the kind of music not only worth owning, but playing again, and again, and again. Good luck topping this one JT!
