Low Stars
author: Lina Falvey
I have been going to see Low Stars at local venues for several years now and I can faithfully say that they are an amazing band. They are especially known for their ability to harmonize so beautifully that attending a live show will be sure to make you an instant fan. Their cd is filled with rich and delightful tales of friendship, love, passion, heartbreak, and a quest for meaning in life. Every song is a beauty and you won't be hitting the skip button on any of these songs. "Child" is my favorite for it really walks us through the stages of life and yet reminds us never to lose our childhood playfulness. Many of Low Stars' songs put perspective on life and the ups and downs we face at different times, as signified in "Calling All Friends" and "Need a Friend." "Can't Live Without Your Love" is another favorite of mine for it is an outpouring of emotion directed at a soul-mate relationship and the heartache of the possible loss of that relationship. "LA Forever" holds a soft spot for me for I am experiencing the LA life-style regularly and coming from clear cross-country to settle in this area only three years ago can really throw some shock and awe factor in the mix. But, all in all, the LA life is addictive, especially for anyone engulfed in the music scene. The rest of the songs on the album are equally meaningful, however don't just take my word for it, buy the album and listen for yourself! You will not remove it from your cd player for sure and you will be making plans to make it out to their next show as well. One more note: these guys are super friendly and very nice to hang out with as well. You will be requesting to see them again and again in a town near you. Keep your eye on this band!

First I had heard of Low Stars was Calling All friends from What About Brian I was then completelty obsessed with trying to buy their album, I went through each track on iTunes America,to my frustration couldn't get it in Europe... then along came CD baby and within 5 days it arrived on my door mat this would have been hard for any UK supplier to achieve let alone one in the States and I am thrilled with what is my favourite album of the year so far, they are so good and would love to see them touring in the UK will keep an eye on that.
