Boasting the sound of your mind being endlessly permutated and inverted upon itself, Kevin Loy's third album is (once again) an entirely solo effort, with every blip, bleep, bang and boom written, arranged and performed by Kevin Loy.

Album Notes

"He’s got more hooks up his sleeve than Burt Bacharach..."
from the album's liner notes, written by Steve Katz (formerly of 'The Blues Project' and 'Blood, Sweat & Tears')

Sounding Like Nothing More Than Your Entire Understanding of Life Being Jammed Into a Blender and Set to "Aleatory", "Djinni of Alkahest" is Nothing Less Than a Modern Masterpiece of Sound. Like Previous Albums By Kevin Loy, "Djinni of Alkahest" is a Solo Album In The Truest Sense, With Every Little Nuance, Niche and Nook Completely Conceived and Concocted by Kevin Loy. "Djinni of Alkahest" Isn't Music So Much As It Is an Inscrutable Surrealistic Sonic Tapestry of Unprecedented Proportions.

BEST ALBUM OF 2007... seriously!
author: Jyhm C.
If you're a fan of music-- at all-- then you should buy this album, and listen to it over and over again. Catchy hooks, sophisticated melodies, sly humor, a little funk thrown in for good measure, cool album artwork (buy the CD, not downloads), this album has it all. Every song is essential. If you're a fan of Brian Wilson or Todd Rundgren, this is the kind of album you WISH they were still making. No album I've heard so far this year even comes close to Djinni Of Alkahest.

A great prog concept LP in the vein of I, Robot or Potatoland, we were overcome by feelings ranging from moroseness for End of Time, to irrational exuburance for Divine. After about the ninth pull on either the jug or the bong, a certain sentimental cacaphony of pleasures enveloped our feeble review synapses, forcing a 5 star review in spite of our ability to be objective, givin our fondness for the first self-titled LP by young master Loy. In conclusion, we admit to a certain reluctance to part with the steep entry price for the CD, and so debate the merits of a mass purchace in order to save vital, scarce funds for the Militia.
