Album Notes

Once upon a time the band known as LOYAL FRISBY WAS CALLED ON CLOUD NINE, and this is what they sounded like...

On Cloud Nine's sound rocks with clean instrumentation and pure, soaring vocals. While this band may elude easy classification, some listeners have made references to Ben Folds Five, The Pixies, REM, For Squirrels, and Radiohead. The songs stand alone as poignant, emotion-filled expressions of life, finding not only a place in the listener's mind, but also in the listener's heart. Each song develops uniquely, bringing emotion and melody vibrantly crashing together in the most surprising ways.

'The songs are beautiful and serious. Loyal's voice is soaring. Kids in the audience are singing along. On Cloud Nine is weird, and they rock.' - INSite Magazine, December 1997

'The first thing you notice about On Cloud Nine is the infectious quality of their tunes. They find a spot in your brain and live there while you are barely aware that they've taken residence. Live, the band shows off the strengths obvious in the recording (tight playing, memorable melodies and intriguing lyrics) and adds the energy hinted at earlier, as well as a more elusive quality-charisma. The band, especially Frisbie, is fascinating to watch.' - (review by MOON Magazine, August 1998)
