For me music is the core for my existence it’s what helps keep me
grounded and emotionally stable. Live music is the truest form of
enjoying music, live music allows the release of the true passion
and feel for music for both the performer and the listener.
Back 2 Da Real is my way of allowing you to release that true passion.
My mission is simple “put the music back into the music".
Starting with a set of drums at age 10 and then learning guitar at age 12
LThomas knew at a very young age that being involved with live music
would be his passion.
Composing his first song at the age of 15 and joining his first band by the age of
16, the path of travel had been set for LThomas and performing live music was
included on that path. Growing up in N.C. LThomas had limited access to
exposure to live music but still found the avenues to find himself performing live at age 16.
From high school talent shows, to the college frat circuit, to 10,000 seat arena’s all
by the age of 18. Out growing the music scene currently at that time in N.C
the travels came west to L.A.
After performing on the LA club circuit for about 6 years LThomas
graduated his creativity and abilities to production and recording, working as a second engineer
in several major Los Angeles recording studios. Working in recording studios added that last piece to
the puzzle, with his musicianship, production skills, and now recording skills all aspects were complete and
LThomas was now ready to do his first solo project, Back 2 Da Real.
Back 2 Da Real is just what it sounds like its music that takes you back to the familiar sounds of the old school, when music was fun and entertaining, but with a new school twist. Intentionally tracked with only (8) songs to take you back to when albums (not cd’s) only came with 8-10 songs and no interludes just track after track. Back 2 Da Real is a
true representation of pure musicianship and talent, with all songs being original with no samples.
From the funky title track “Back 2 Da Real” to the sweet sounds of Reggae with tracks like Next 2 Me and the sexy funky tracks in between like Nast-a and Sexy Smooth, B2DR offers a unique sound that everyone can tune into.. Back 2 Da Real a new age of Funk presented to you by LThomas ….NJoy
