Album Notes

LUBOS BENA LIVE

Lubos Bena is an Slovakian musician who is also President of the World Resophonic Guitar Association. The cd was recorded live with Lubos on his resophonic guitar and vocals and Charlie Slavik on harp. Eleven traditional blues songs with different versions from Mississippi Fred McDowell to Leadbelly or Big Bill Broonzy, all cleverly performed with great love and respect. This cd opens the door to a new generation of European guitar players who are able to caress and make this instrument sound in the traditional way that seemed to be doomed to disappear but thanks to musicians like Lubos has got a place into European folk-blues music. VERY GOOD. -Vicente Zumel La Hora Del Blues.

Honest Delta Blues with Passion!

Lubos really puts you in Mississippi with this cd. His sidekick, Charlie Slavik on harp nicely accents the fast moving slide guitar. Most amazing is the feeling these songs leave you with. I can't wait for the next recording. Great work Guys!!!!!
