Luca Piovesan was born in Treviso in 1982; he graduated with honors as an accordionist from “G. Verdi” Conservatory in Milan in 2004. He studied accordion with Elio Boschello till 2004 and with Claudio Jacomucci since 2005.
He’s a teacher member of the Italian Accordion Academy directed by Claudio Jacomucci (www.accademiafisarmonicistica.com).
He attended masterclasses with Radomir Tomic (Serbia), Mika Vayrynen and Matti Rantanen (Finland), Jurji Shishkin, Viatcheslav Semionov and Friedrich Lips (Russia), Geir Draugsvoll (Norvey), Iñaki Alberdi (Basque Country), Jean-Luc Manca (France).
He performed in important halls in Italy (Auditorium Lettimi of Rimini, Teatro Lirico of Magenta, Ca’ dei Carraresi in Treviso, Teatro della Villa Reale in Monza, Teatro Verdi in Pordenone, Auditorium Santa Margherita in Venice, Auditorium of Belluno, Teatro San Cipriano in Milan, Teatro Kulturni Dom in Gorizia, Teatro della Gran Guardia a Verona, Conservatory of Udine, Conservatory of L’Aquila, Cuneo, Teatro delle Maddalene in Padova, Bologna, Forlì, Mantova, Chieti, Estate Tuscanese…) and in international stages (Austria, Slovenia, Canada, Switzerland-Musical Weeks of Lugano, International Festival of Accordion in Castelfidardo , International Accordion Festival of Deventer (Netherlands), Czech Republic’s consulat, Aviano Community Theatre).He performed in several chamber and orchestral works, in theatre and poetry readings. In July 2009 he will be in tournée with orchestra in Japan playing even in Tokyo Opera City Hall and Yokohama Hall.
He is the artistic director of “L’anima nella fisarmonica”, an accordion festival in Monastier di Treviso with masterclasses and concerts.
In 2007 he received the 42nd International Prize “Grolla d’oro” in Treviso for his artistic activities.
In 2008 he won the 2nd prize at the International Music Trophy (TIM).
He’s recorded in 2009 his first cd “Musica Ricercata”.
He founded “Accordion Project Studio”, a recording studio focused on accordion. He’s also one of the founders of the label Blowoutrecords.it.
In 2005 he graduated in Italian Literature from University Ca’ Foscari in Venice with a thesis on the relationship between the Italian writer Alessandro Baricco and music.
He published his first poetry book “Sussurri di sogni” (Whispering dreams) in 2003. (You can but it on www.ibs.it)
