Lucky Lee Jones danced right out of the womb at the dawn of the glorious 1970's. Raised in the wilds of suburban Boston, little Lucky picked up the guitar in a fit of pre-adolescent angst and has been rocking ever since.
Throughout the 1990's, Lucky played in and produced many influential acts within the booming Boston music scene. Most noteably, "The Ghost of Tony Gold" aquired national acclaim from their 1998 Flo records release " For Lovers Only".
Finally striking out on his own in the summer of 2001, he released the pop wonder "Gilmapo Died", an infectious collection of finely sketched melodies which explore Mr. Jones' hearty love for a good beat and a catchy chorus.
His smart and snappy tunes, a mix of rock distortion and sugar sweet ballads, are what might happen if Beck went back in time and had a dirty martini with The Zombies ... but better.
60s instrumentation, meets new millenia techno, meets songwriting mastery, true musical skill and a wit as sharp as a carving knife. Lucky has done what most only attempt; he has mastered the difficult trick of lightheartedness while never letting the irony outweigh the heart.
Listen to Lucky Lee Jones and you'll find he's given you a peice of his soul... and thank god for that.

There is so much going on here. It wouldn't be just to compare this album to anyone else. His writing is fluid and it's honest. Sure the album is vaied but it is consistent. It's almost as though you can stand in the center of it and hear it all fall into place around you.
