Album Notes

Ludwig’s Van is a high-energy foursome playing a lively assortment of Rock & Roll tunes with definite rockabilly and surf influences.

"Ruby Red Lips and a Wicked Grin" is their first full length release and features 10 truly original songs, blended with a mix of carefully chosen covers from the likes of Johnny Cash and Eddie Cochran.

The original songs on the CD span a variety of themes and styles. The opening selection "Theme From High School Drifter," is an engaging instrumental with obvious surf-influences. "Last Chance Hotel" and "Road Kill Cafe" have an air of the old west with the styling’s of the Man in Black. The autobiographical "Ludwig's Bop" is simply a song in search of a party. The bluesy "Moderation" and the swinging "Makes Me Want To Sin" are clever cautionary tales. And finally, the boys delve into humorous satire with the songs, "Big Trucks" and "Low Rider." Put it all together and you have a very unique musical release that you'll want to listen to over and over again.

Van Ramsey of KSER's Pull The String, says:

"Ludwig’s Van is one hell of a party band! Rockabilly classics, rockin’ originals, and energy to spare! Featuring Kurt Shubert’s energetic vocals and the lurid baritone of bassist Dean Giles, these guys keep the rockabilly burnin’ all night long!"
