Album Notes

Brooklyn based Luff is stormy, precocious, and sonically pleasing. It is the payoff of years of crafting songs and accumulating delay pedals, of fine tuning texture and intention. Influenced by bands like Yo La Tengo, Mogwai, and My Bloody Valentine, they blend noise with beauty, post-rock with shoegaze.
Sheila Sobolewski provides rich guitar work and sparse and lovely vocals. Liz Bustamante's (Spouse/Addicted2Fiction) brilliant drumming and Tara Smith's solid bass playing lay perfect groundwork. Guitarist Robin Pickering (Triple Creme) brings her rock sensibility to the band.
Their newest album and first full-length, Blanket Ice, releases on June 15th 2007 and promises nothing less than the artful capture of this well articulated noise.

"The new self released CD, Blanket Ice, is outstanding... we were won over quickly. Sheila's warm vocals complete this sound and are easily the reason we are highly recomending the brand new release...If you would like to pick up a copy of the new 10 song album (and you do because my eyes are bright red and shooting lasers at you) stop by CD Baby. Can you tell we like this band a bunch?" —Milk Milk Lemonade http:milkmilk-lemonade.blogspot.com

“Luff's first full-length effort, Blanket Ice, has been released under the radar; my first perceptions of the album? I wish more blogs, forums and internet types were talking about it, simply because it’s a release that does deserve to be talked about, a lot. Sculpting sounds that resemble Mogwai and Sonic Youth overdosing on diazepam but refusing to create an ambient record, Luff raise the tempo by adding a secret mix of musical-amphetamines...Luff are a welcome reminder of how good music can be...” —Holly Joy Emblem http://thesilentballet.com
