Album Notes

Luis Angulos "Ayer y Hoy" is simply a description of its title;original compositions from the present and the past.Written produced and recorded by himself at home it is an album that turned out sounding very atmospheric,,deep, dark, melancholic and personal.
"A lot of this songs were simply written on an acoustic guitar and then i added drum samples, bass, synthesizers and guitar layers as i went along" says Luis. Some of these songs were written 10 years ago when i didn't have any recording devices so there were written and put in a shoe box.Years later i took them out of the box and combined them with other songs ive written recently and recorded them in a small portable 4 track.
The first piece 'Don Juan" is a song about Carlos Castañedas book "Las enseñansas de Don Juan" with direct quotations about the mistery of the authors psychodelic experiences and hallucinations with Peyote.
the following track "Creciente" is a song about schizophrenia with an intro which suggests Pink Floyds "welcome to the machine".The third track "Mujer Bella" is a blues 70's oriented song with psychodelic guitar solos that echoes Eric Claptons "cream" years.
Then the title"Rain" shows perhaps a little glance of the songwriters folky acoustic side.
The last song "Rey del Cielo" features a female guest singer and its lyrics suggest a reflection of the worlds present times.
