Album Notes

Luke Johnson's debut album is full of fresh original sounds and funky grooves that leave you wondering, What comes next? Paramount Rock? First-rate Funk? Unrivaled Reggae? The answer is all that and then some! Every track on Light Bringer is unique from the hard hitting "Cost," to the timeless Bluegrass anthem "His Mark," and the funked up jams of "Love Like Yours" and "More or Less Free." Songs such as "Electric," and "Can't Walk Alone" showcase Luke's acoustic piano vibe and noticeable wit within his lyrics. The Reggae fever of "Next Mans Shoes" transports you to tropical bliss where as the social commentary within "Mine is Better" definitely leave you thinking and probably laughing.

Who says that you can only wear one hat? Luke refuses to conform to any standard. With a little help from several guest artists such as Chris Henry (guitar, bass, mandolin), Jesse Shultzaburger (drums), Jenny Leigh Obert (Fiddle), and Murphy Henry (Banjo). Luke plays an upright piano, fender Rhodes, organ, guitar, synthesizer, and percussion to highlight his innovative songwriting on Light Bringer. When these tunes are played live they bring folks out of their seats and into the groove.

All in all "Light Bringer" is incomparable to anything before or since, a must have for any music lovers collection.

If your a fan of good music, you should have this album. I was impressed by the diversity of the songs- So many bands try to pull off different styles, but Luke has no problem crossing genres with ease. There is really something for everyone on this disc. And the cover art is really phatty too. So refreshing to find new artists who are writing uplifting bold music that is worth listening to. Everyone I play this disc for seems to agree!
