Album Notes
The gentle rhythm of the lullaby is magic. It washes over us like waves of cool blue, soothing and caressing our tired minds, reminding us of parental tenderness. Each of the 14 songs on this album were crafted and chosen to relax both mind and body. We hope these lullabies help children and adults float in the stream of melodies that lead them to their dreamland.

LuLu and the TomCat are also known as Tom and Lori: singer/songwriters whose writing shows influences of folk, swing, jazz, “old time”, and traditional country. They are equally comfortable presenting familiar songs to adults or seniors in an enjoyable musical blend of songs, styles, instruments and humour.

LuLu and the TomCat - "creative, energetic, enthusiastic, very child friendly, with a highly interactive stage show, a musical extravaganza of sing-alongs, storytelling, puppetry and participation. A wonderful atmosphere of fun and laughter, with a colourful catalogue of tunes... a fresh and fun approach to ‘edu-tainment.' " They bring stories to life and get everyone involved. With multiple instruments, puppets, and lots of audience participation, children and adults will love their fresh approach to performances." LuLu and the TomCat have been involved in education for many years, creating fun and educational materials for children. LuLu is an Early Years French Immersion teacher, and writes and produces music and stories with her partner and former public school librarian, the TomCat. As teacher and librarian, they have long recognized the benefits of using music to teach children. They are also able to perform in French (please see for info on their French programs).

Some notable Canadian performances have been four times at the Winnipeg International Children's Festival, four times at the Winnipeg Folk Festival, the Festival du Voyageur, opening celebrations for the Winnipeg Centennial Library, The Winnipeg Teddy Bear's Picnic, and the Brandon Folk Festival. They were selected as finalists in the 2010 Gala manitobain de la chanson. They have toured across Manitoba, Ontario and Saskatchewan. They have six multiple award winning CD's, as well as a series of children's books and activity guides aimed at promoting reading through music. These multiple award winning "cool cats" have also performed in schools and community centres in Cuba, toured throughout western and central Canada, performed on Parliament Hill in Ottawa to celebrate Canada Day, played at the Canadian Embassy in Washington, D.C., and represented Canada at the World Expo in Japan.
