warm and beautiful

I loved this CD. The simple beauty of these songs as performed by the Lumiere String Quartet really stands out. I especially liked What Child is This and Donna Nobis Pacem. Whereas so much about this holiday season has become frenetic and angst, it is great to have these songs nearby to remind one to slow down, appreciate their beauty and relax into reverie of Christmas memories.

What a wonderful Christmas compilation of classical favorites and a few new various of older pieces. I especially enjoyed Lumiere's version of Bach's Dona Nobis Pacem. There is nothing better to put one in the Christmas spirit than this wonderful quartet's exceptional Classical Christmas. Bravo.

Excellent holiday CD
author: Becky
This CD of holiday music shows superb musicianship and variety. It employs traditional arrangements of favorites such as Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring, What Child is This, and Coventry Carol to set a holiday mood. As a professional musician myself, I noticed a nice contrast between the more staccato and tenuto sections, and enjoyed the three guest artists (on trumpet, flute, and violin) who created a little variety. I would recommend this to anyone who wants a holiday CD.
