Album Notes

Luna Dorma is an American Pop-Rock solo artist founded in 2009 by classically trained Pop singer/songwriter and Latina TV personality Melanie Byron and Opera singer/pianist/producer Mark Antonio de Villiers .
The Concept:

Luna Dorma is ground breaking in every sense of the term. Never before seen, a beautiful gothic spicy latina, with the voice and face of an angel fusing neo gothic lyrics with dramatic classical/pop vocals. Luna Dorma merges all these fantastic unique qualities with rock, dance, urban and symphonic elements, creating a new musical genre called "Gopera" {Gah prah}. This creation took the team three years to formulate and was introduced in their first privately recorded single, Broken Doll. In 2010, Luna Dorma went on to record three other singles; "I Wanna Know", "Angel Dust", and "Let Me In", courtesy of Blak Sun Musik and Entertainment, LLC. All four singles were used in a demo CD entitled, "Puccini's Gothic Law".

The Evolution:

Luna Dorma transformed the "Gopera" concept into a neo-classical synthesis embedded with Operatic visuals and vocal acrobats as well as incorporating symphonic/rock/electronic/ & urban dance music. Out of this rare and chemically imbalanced fusion, the project has grown into a cultural melting pot catering to the ever growing US American market as well as the European, Latin and Asian markets.
