Album Notes

Luna Trick is the creative brainchild of English multi-Instrumentalist, Daniel Staniforth. Classically trained as a Cellist, Staniforth crafts an array of songs styles - ranging from alt-pop/rock to widely experimental. His hybridized guitar style renders many different sonic colours, which are further enhanced by his willingness to explore different instrumentation. Luna Trick is hard to pidgeon-hole in that it fuses many different elements, from darkwave, electronica, space-funk, to ethereal. Some comparisons given are the Cure, Bowie, NIN, Radiohead, Beck, etc. - but the songs also contain Staniforth’s unique musical signature. A few songs from Total Submersion have received some Indie radio play, including the historical narrative, "Jacobite" - the tragic story, "Tale of Three Ribbons," - and the dreamscape, "Swimmer & the Siren."

Submersed in the Best
author: Emily Savage
At first listen, I fell for the NIN sound, and then I listened again finding threads of so many of my favorite bands like the Cure, David Bowie. This is old school new wave meshed with the best of today’s sounds. Buy this CD!
