notes
"Sometimes mellow, sometimes rockin', but always full of whimsy and childhood truth, Lunch Money brings indie rock into the forefront of children's music culture. Molly Ledford's smooth and charming vocals really emphasize Lunch Money's unstated motto: life is all about the details. It's kids that notice the 'thing at the drive-thru where you put the money in,' but music fans everywhere are noticing Lunch Money and their dedication to living and preserving childhood through music."

"Molly Ledford named her band Lunch Money after the 'spirit of independence' she recalls as a young schoolkid 'with those precious crumpled dollars in your sock.' The South Carolina-based trio has a pleasing acoustic sound, with Ledford's delightful voice on lead vocals. The band's debut CD 'Silly Reflection' is filled with songs that wistful parents can also enjoy."

"While not intended to be educational, the fun and whimsical songs touch on everyday life. For example, 'Tricycle' includes the lyrics: 'On a bicycle you don't know how to stop. You have to ride into the grass and tip right over, but my tricycle will never let me down.' The lively 'Yes, We Have Rhythm' will have kids clapping and jiving along.'

Special Note: The cd case folds out and contains all the lyrics.

My kids ask for it over and over..
author: KiraA great kids' CD that parents will love too. My children's favorite song is "Yes, We Got Rhythm" and mine is "Caboose," but every song is great. Looking forward to the next CD!
My daughter loves it.
author: ktmI always have this feeling that I am buying this music more for myself than my daughter, but it only took a day for my little girl to start reciting the lyrics back to me. Yesterday, she woke up and said, "Want Lunch Money." I asked her which song she wanted, and she just dove into bits and pieces of lyrics from numerous songs. (FYI -- she is 2 years and 2 months old.) The music is whimsical, catchy, and hip all at the same time. Every now and then I doubt the music is appropriate for my child, but then she will surprise me with a burst of lyrics in the stroller or in the bath tub. This is one of the best children's music CDs I have bought.
Kindie Music at its Finest!
author: Frances EnglandMy first impression after listening to Lunch Money’s Silly Reflection album was, “why on earth aren’t these people wildly famous?” Every track on the cd is outstanding and it has quickly become a huge favorite at our house, both with my 3 year old son, and with my husband and me. Molly’s sing-song, smiling voice combined with infectious melodies remind me a bit of Belle & Sebastian and the Innocence Mission. It’s kindie music at its finest – highly, highly recommended!
Music that makes your ears smile!
author: RichardAbsolutely charming songs with acoustic arrangements ala Violent Femmes, and gentle, butterfly melodies delivered by Molly Ledford's beautiful voice. "Roller Coaster" and "Tricycle" are standouts, and "I Want A Dog" will quietly break your heart, in a good way!
Great, imaginitive, and fun!
author: Michael LairdTheir musical ability coupled with an inate sense of style make this a great CD for kids and parents alike. I would recommend this to anyone who wants their kids to grow in imagination and creativity.
