NOTHING REMAINS THE SAME voted ALBUM OF THE YEAR, 2010 Motif Music Awards!
"In this wonderful, yet sometimes “peculiar” life I live, the one thing I know for certain is that everything changes, nothing remains the same. I finally get it. The toughest lesson is excepting the change, learning from the change, then taking it all and moving ahead. I love the words of the popular poem A Reason, a Season, or a Lifetime, author unknown. I am grateful for all the people who have come in and out of my life for a reason, a season or a lifetime; in some way, each adding something of value to my world. I know every change is for a reason. Hard to believe 4 years have passed since I released my 1st cd, Find a Dream…catch it if you dare. Today I look back in wonder as I look ahead with anticipation, fully aware, Nothing Remain the Same." Joanne Lurgio
Through luck and friendship I had a wonderful opportunity to record some of my songs in Nashville, TN. It started out as a demo project, but the more I listened to my recordings, the more I was loving what was happening to my songs and realized I wanted them for myself not simply demowork. Called my friend Mike Dunbar who was engineering & producing the demo projects and asked to change direction and start working on a full lenght CD. Without hesitation, Mike gathered up some of the finest Nashville musicians and we set out to finish the album - Joanne Lurgio, Nothing Remains the Same.
"Joanne Lurgio, singer/songwriter, sings about everyday living. A lively acoustic guitar style, along with powerful, emotion packed vocals will draw you in to the heart of her songs. "
Due to the nature of the initial project goal, you will find this album is an eclectic mix of sounds; Blues, Folk, Bluegrass, Country Gospel & Acoustic Rock sounds.
Making all the music is:
Joanne Lurgio – acoustic guitar & vocals
Mike Baker – guitar
Mike Dunbar – bass, mandolin & guitar
John Heinrich – steel guitar, tenor saxophones & soprano, dobro
Willie Rainsford – keyboard
Fred Satterfield - drums
Recorded at StringHouse Studio, Hendersonville TN and Mike Dunbar Productions, Nashville TN
Produced by Mike Dunbar, Mike Dunbar Productions, Nashville TN
Engineered by Mike Dunbar & Rick Otts
But I must admit there is one thing that hasn't change ... my motto.. 'If, even for a moment, I can make you laugh, cry, think, remember or just forget the troubles of your day, then I have succeeded." It still rings true. I hope you are somehow touched by my words and music.
All the Best
Joanne

Sweet sounding, heartfelt and solid

This is one of the best indie disks I've heard in awhile! The sound quality and production are excellent, but second to the wonderful songwriting and performance of Joanne Lurgio. A diverse collection of tunes with nice range, solid songwriting and beautiful vocals. My faves on here are "True Love", "Would You Mind?" and "Red Crescent Moon" - but really this is an easy beginning to end listen...Awesome!

A wonderful refreshing listen

Joanne once again reaches for the stars with this new album. Joanne is a major talent and should be heard often. Whether a single Guitar vocal or a polished full production track it is always a pleasure to hear her sing.

Slam dunk!

I've had the priveledge of sharing the stage with Joanne on a couple of occasions, and I must say she's a top-shelf talent! Her last album was great, but this one raises the bar even higher if that was possible. Great voice, songs, production, and session work. One of the best albums I've heard in a LONG while!
