Estimated time of arrival... approximately 30 minutes... 30 fusion-filled minutes of swanky, chilled Brazilian beats and electronic nu jazz Bosa. The sonic environment on our private jet flight from New York to Rio is provided exclusively by Luxo 100, the hip, urbane music outfit consisting of vocalist/guitarist Blake Amos, keyboardist/DJ Ramsay Rawson and vocalist/percussionist Elizabeth Bruce. Please recline your seats to the lounge position and chill with us for a relaxing decent into exotic rhythms, suave sounds and stylish grooves. Luxo (Portuguese for luxury) 100 has released a fashionable EP titled POSTCARD that is influenced equally by the cool, lounge era of the 1960s and modern electronica. This is an upscale, sophisticated project featuring classic Brazilian offerings (ala Jobim and Gilberto) to contemporary downtempo grooves and sampling. Their website says, ”We wanted something that represented an upscale lounge ambience with a little retro touch.” The trio are literally a world of influence to Luxo 100 as New Orleans’ native Blake Amos spent time in Brazil studying the Bosa Nova beat before settling in New York where he met DJ Ramsay Rawson who had lived in Paris and worked extensively as a producer in the downtempo genre. The two discovered sultry jazz vocalist Elizabeth Bruce who had previously sung in jazz ensembles in London, San Francisco and Tokyo. POSTCARD - A global priority lounge experience and the perfect soundtrack for your next martini mixer or flight to Rio. (myspace.com/luxo100) ~SANDY SHORE
