April 2003: Just heard that United Airlines will be playing I Want to be a Wrangler on the KIDS UNITED Channel on all flights starting in May! You can hear it now, sung by Chris Daniels, by clicking the title on the left.
There is lots going on in this CD: a jolly pirate song, 2 cowboy songs, a bluesy love song for a radioman, 2 tender love songs, a lullaby arranged by melding a Schumann canon with a Kipling poem, and a song for your holiday family gathering.
AND, there are great songs for children, sung by Celeste Krenz and the three Bouillion brothers Ian, Elliott and Andre. They celebrate the fun and hassles of just being a kid. These are the kinds of songs children and their folks love to sing and hear.
Celeste Krenz is the featured singer: her lovely voice makes the lyrics shine and the instruments sing. She is backed by James Hoskins on cello and Nelson Rangell on flute, along with Linda on the piano. Mollie O'Brien, Jane Simms and Barbara Kuepper go all out on the Radio Man Blues, a classic Bflat blues tune with a great rhythm and piano accompaniment.
The CD has rhythm backing by Chris Daniels and Chris Engleman, with Christian Teele on drums and percussion. These songs swing! Listen for Chris Daniels singing as the pirate and the lonely would-be wrangler.
John Magnie of the Subdudes adds accordion riffs to Big Will the Pirate, with Nelson Rangell soaring on the piccolo.
Celeste joins with Jane Simms, Mark Oblinger and ky on the song Join Hands Around the Table, a joyful celebration of family and friends.
