Album Notes

Just Listen....

A new original "Lovelight Shining"; track number two is a beautiful jazz bossa nova written by Lydia Marks and Bassist Harry Jacobson complimented by Don Rebic/piano, Bruce Johnstone/sax, Eric Pearson, Guitar, and Drums/Percussionist, John Bacon Jr.

Latin styles and flavorings are performed throughout on "Poinciana", "Falling In Love With Love", and "Pure Imagination."

Also featured are fresh rhythmic arrangements of beloved standards; "Pennies From Heaven", "Cry Me A River", "Down With Love", and "My Secret Love.”

Lydia's dynamic range shows in her renditions of "Over the Rainbow", "Cabaret", and "Sam, You Made the Pants Too Long,!” an audience favorite novelty sing-a-long that is sure to stop the show!

The only problem I have with my copy of this album is that it is not autographed. This girl is a winner. Lydia is not only easy on the eyes but overflowing with talent.

Wow, this band is amazing! Don Rebic and Bruce Johnstone are full of energy, and they accompany Lydia's smooth vocals to a tee! Check out "Down With Love" because Lydia bounces through it with ease and agility. Her timing and tone are sophisticated, making this up tempo tune cool and clear and a sheer pleasure!

Lydia's voice is rich, earthy, and with a wonderful vibrato that I love. Her version of Somewhere Over the Rainbow always makes me cry. The Jazz ensemble accompanying Lydia is unbelievable and soothes you from the start. This is definitely a CD worth buying. Bravo to Lydia and Dr. J for their title cut, Lovelight Shining--it's a sexy, sultry tune. Bring us more!!!
