Album Notes

Since the inception of the Lydia Warren Band in 2000 fans have been demanding a live album. Finally, the wait is over. “Live” is a collection of songs recorded at three LWB shows in the summer of 2005. There are minimal edits and no overdubs, just the trio at its best- blazing blues guitar, extended funky grooves, and hell raising vocals.

In 2000, while still in high school, guitarist/singer/songwriter Lydia Warren formed the Lydia Warren Band with bassist Matt Malikowski and drummer Warren Grant. They released their self titled debut in 2001 to unexpected acclaim and attention. In 2003 the band followed up with “Pass My Way.” The disc was recorded on Cape Cod and featured a more mature, eclectic R&B sound. In 2005 the band released their most successful album titled “Through With Love.” This took the trio to new heights as they seamlessly fused soulful vocals, rocking guitar, heartfelt lyrics and a tightly-knit rhythm section.

While releasing records the band toured relentlessly throughout the Northeast, and was given the opportunity to play in Canada and the Middle East. The Today Show, WHDH Channel 7 News, Nitebeat, Roots Rock Live and many other local television stations featured the trio on their programs, while WZLX, WBOS and WHEB put their songs in regular rotation. Opening slots for B.B. King, Johnny Winter, The Fabulous Thunderbirds, Buckwheat Zydeco, Kenny Wayne Shepherd and Hubert Sumlin were offered and accepted. The band was selected for the Boston Blues Festival, Montreal’s Festiblues (attended by 60,000 annually), the Hampton Beach Seafood Fest (attended by 200, 000 annually), the NEMO music conference, Wachusett Music Festival, was nominated for a Boston Music Award, and garnered regional distribution through Newbury Comics.

"Live" captures exactly what fans love about the group- raw honesty in every note, executed by three passionate young musicians on their way up. This disc is not to be missed.
