A lush tapestry of meditative, yet spicy world music featuring harp, soprano, alto and bass silver flutes, Native American flutes, orcarina, voice, guitar and world percussion. Special guest artist Jami Sieber on electric cello.

notes

Lynda plays harp, all flutes, and does all the vocals on the CD, using her voice more like an instrument, adding color and harmony, rather then singing songs with words. Catima Biersdorff adds her skill on world percussion instruments to several songs. Keith Sommers plays guitar, some percussion, synthesizer effects and used his mastery as a recording engineer to artfully blend and weave all the layers of sounds and instruments together.

Jami Sieber plays her hauntingly beautiful electric cello in two of Lynda’s harp compostions, Lost in Dreams, and Almost There, transforming these originally solo harp pieces into unusual and soulful harp and cello duets.

Dales Innskeep’s mandolin playing brings lovely harmony and delicate texture to two of Lynda’s songs that have a latin feel, Blessed By the Thai Rose, and The Road to Andalusia, adding mandolin to harp, silver and Native American flutes, and gentle percussion.

Lynda composed all the music for this CD except The Road to Andalusia, by Keith Sommers, and Haziz, a collaboration with Keith Sommers.

Lynda has been playing flutes for 40 years, harp for 20, years and has developed her own unique style of music drawing from improvising and playing music in a broad variety of styles from jazz, latin, blues,Celtic, Native American, Middle Eastern, New Age, singer-songwriter, and world beat.

Lynda Cole has been both a musician and a healing arts practitioner for many years. She performs solo and with a variety of world beat musicians. Lynda currently teaching Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction at Bay Area Hospital in Coos Bay,Oregon, is a Mental Health R.N.,and a Hakomi trained counselor.

I just love this CD! The music is dreamy, thrilling, and adventurous. I can listen and go journeying, or drift easily off to sleep. The instrumentation has exceptional clarity, and the mood is uplifting. It can definitely be used as a backgroud for alternative healing sessions, like massage therapy, or Reiki, or for deep listening. My favorite cut is "Blessed by the Thai Rose". YummY! Thank you Lynda! Diane Lee

lynda cole's harp, flute and voice lead me to that gentle, quiet place...playfully, joyously, peacefully. the sound surrounds...sometimes lush, exotic and full; at other times delicate, agreeably piquant, fresh and inviting. i leave her musical banquet replete, refreshed, renewed with the ability to live life large knowing where to return when my soul thirsts again...where our waters meet.
