REVIEWS

Magical . . .
author: Jim Hughey
The shamans from Simon's "cold heaven" regard stories as living things. Simon has the shaman's magic to give his story-songs the power to awaken the sleeping souls of us who listen. He awakens truths that are buried already within us. Simon tells us in one of his songs . . . "my soul is old … knows every story told." Simon does not lie. As I read the reviews left by others who were touched by his work, I can declare, "These reviewers tell the truth!" It is a good thing that I got 'Six Sketches' on a CD rather than vinyl. I have played it so much in the past month that it would be nothing but snaps, crackles and pops by now. You must do yourself a favor and expose yourself to the magic that is Simon's!

Finally I got a CD from Simon
author: Jenseeraq Poulsen
I heard Simon an evening 3 or 4 years ago in Katuaq Nuuk at Greenland, and ever since I've been looking forward to get a CD and be able to hear his music again. Simons music and lyrics touched me in a way that I experience rarely. I must confress that "Mother Smile" comes into your most inner soul, that you have to listen to it again and again, just to hear the words again, and get the picture of what must be the reason that this particular song was written.

Personal, honest and fantastic
author: Hege Siri, freelance journalist
It is difficult being neutral when it comes to saying something about Simon Lynges 6 sketches. We live in a constant influence of different music in our media world, and because of that there are even more important for artists to be able to touch the audience and to have a particular sound of their one. Simon Lynge is in a class by himself. His voice is like soft silk that is both sweet and strong at the same time. He has a nice melodic sound, whit a honesty in the lyric that really makes me believe in his songs. If I should compare his music, I would say Paul Simon and James Browne, and I am sure that they would not mind. But Simon Lynge do deserve all the attention he can have, cause this is real good music. I don’t lie when I say that I sometimes hold my breath when I listening to some of his songs. I am looking forward to hear even more of him in the future.

Uplifting
author: Justin Tomlinson
This CD has good depth. After a couple years I still listen to this CD. Simon's lyrical content is like listening to an old friend or grandpa tell you the things you need to hear to give you the juice for an inspired life. The songs are easy on the ears. Simon's voice is very sweet. Songs are catchy and "flow like burning coal," reference to a Bob Dylan lyric. Two of my favorite subtleties on this album are the clinking glasses and conversation in the background of Love Comes Back to You and the off-beat clap during the chorus of House of Sand. If you like good lyrics, good song writing, talent with the acoustic guitar, and a great vocal range, I think you'll like this album.
