Cherie Lynn is a West Michigan Treasure. This is a MUST HEAR VOICE FOLKS! Her voice is so pure and soothing that you will be waiting for future recordings! Cherie is a very gifted vocalist, songwriter & musician. She was born in Michigan and is self-taught and holds her own on guitar, bass and drums. She has played bass and back up to Steve Allen, Kenny Loggins, Chaka Kahn, and Grand Rapids own Red Hot Mama Tootsie VanKelly.
Cherie's fans have been waiting a long time for this collection of old and newly written jazz standards. Cherie has written 4 songs for the album they are; "There Goes My Heart Again", "If the Moon Has His Way", "Dancing With You (I Want To Spend My Life)", and "If He Could Only Dance Like Fred Astaire".
Cherie has surrounded herself with some very gifted musicians on this project. Her husband Tom Hagen arranged all the tunes and played piano, guitar, flute, and clarinet. Max Collie plays trumpet in the style of Chet Baker. Michigan native Tom Lockwood is on bass and the Principle Percussionist from the Grand Rapids Symphony, Bill Vits, is the drummer. You will definitely enjoy this exquisite artistry of cool swinging jazz, and ballads that will melt your heart.
