Album Notes

Lynn Randall spent 25 years as a lounge act working in the PA-NJ-NY area and lived on the Caribbean island of St Maarten working in the finest hotels and clubs there. Now, as a cabaret artist exclusively, her career continues to bring her to new audiences. Lynn and her bassist husband, Don Moyer, gathered together a top flight group of musicians and Pat Martino's manager/producer Joe Donofrio to produce this CD. It features Jennifer Leitham (who spent 10 years with Mel Torme',and currently works with Doc Severinsen and Jack Sheldon) on Upright Bass, Tony Miceli on Vibes, Al Harrison on Trumpet, and many other first class Philly-area jazz veterans. This CD, "songs I love...Lynn Randall" is a collection of intricate, carefully crafted treatments of great standards from Mel Torme', Johnny Mercer, Michel LeGrand, Nat King Cole, Sondheim, Peter Allen, and others. Lynn's 3 octave alto voice deftly negotiates songs with a high "difficulty" factor and her phrasing shades and colors each song with depth of feeling. Compared often to a modern day Judy Garland, Lynn's voice does remind one of a jazzy Judy. Give Lynn a listen-and discover a distinctive voice that you will not soon forget.

Lynn Randall has a wonderful voice! This is an excellence jazz CD. The songs are snappy and Lynn has an amazing range and power. I particularly liked her opening number of a Mel Torme song. I highly recommend this CD to fans of jazz music. You won't be disappointed.
