Michael Diamond (www.michaeldiamondmusic.com)	Review excerpt from Music & Media Focus I have no doubt that wherever Lynn Yew Evers was playing or recording, it would sound amazing, but she definitely took it to the next level by choosing to have Dawn Of Peace produced by Grammy-winning Windham Hill founder Will Ackerman at his famous Imaginary Roads Studio in Vermont. The CD contains 11 exquisite tracks of solo grand piano beginning with “Yew and I.” From the first delicate notes and phrases, it is obvious that being revealed is a musician of great sensitivity. This opening track provides a wonderful introduction and creates a sense of expectancy for what is to come. On track 3, “A Dying Art,” a wistful feeling pervades, perhaps evoking a memory of something cherished that is passing from existence. But of all the pieces on the album, it is the title track which prompted the most effusive remark from Will when he said: “Dawn of Peace struck me as the most uniquely your own. I mean all of your work has your voice, you never disappear for a moment, but that piece was the most utterly distinctive. To me that is a signature piece for Lynn Evers. I find that probably the most moving of all of them.” I would be hard pressed to dispute that claim. On “Rain Of Spring,” the tender refrain was as rejuvenating to the spirit as raindrops are to vernal flowers. Capturing both a sense of timelessness and the preciousness of being in the now, “A Fleeting Moment” brings the album to a serene and graceful conclusion. And speaking of conclusions, I will rely on one more quote from Will Ackerman to provide an astute observation and panoramic perspective: “Lynn Evers has the heart of a romantic and the hands of an artist. The combination is very powerful. Her music is like a walk through the most beautiful garden you've ever imagined; her compositions imbued with profound emotion and grace. Kathy Parsons	From MainlyPiano "Dawn of Peace" is the second solo piano release by Lynn Yew Evers, and what a beauty it is! Produced by Will Ackerman at his Imaginary Road Studios, this is a rare Ackerman production in that it is entirely solo piano. Evers’ elegant, graceful compositions and playing style need absolutely no accompaniment or embellishment. Evers began performing on the piano when she was six years old in her native Malaysia, and is a graduate of Trinity College of Music in London. She has performed by invitation for the King and Queen of Malaysia as well as the Prime Minister and other dignitaries. She brings vast and varied experience in composing, performing, arranging, and teaching to her original music and plays with the effortless grace of an artist who feels the most at home with a piano keyboard at her fingertips. The music on "Dawn of Peace" is not particularly flashy or complex and Evers uses her very impressive chops to tell stories and express sincere and deeply-felt emotions rather than to dazzle. Her classical roots are apparent, but this is very accessible music that will communicate to listeners of all ages and levels of musical experience. "Dawn of Peace" begins with “Yew and I,” a beautifully expressive ballad that sets the tone of the album. It gently and tenderly seduces the senses and draws you in to discover what this lovely music is all about. “Lyrical Mood” evokes images of a solo dancer, gracefully moving to music only she can hear and expressing emotions from deep within. “A Dying Art” is wistful and dreamy with a hint of regret. The title track is absolutely gorgeous. Sometimes very soft and edge-less, sometimes a bit bigger and more passionate, I’m fascinated with Evers’ ability to take a piece in one direction and then suddenly go somewhere unexpected without jarring the listener with the change. The surprises are always pleasant, intriguing, and very natural. “Away From Home” is one of those wonderful pieces that offers a glimpse into the artist’s soul. Gently nostalgic and overflowing with longing and love, I really can’t imagine anyone not being moved by this piece. “Shade of A Torn Daffodil” goes somewhat darker and more mysterious. If I had to choose one favorite of the eleven remarkable tracks, I think it would be this one. As tired as I’m getting of the non-stop spring rain here on the Oregon Coast, I love the delicate peacefulness of “Rain of Spring.” “A Fleeting Moment” takes this outstanding album to its ending with a warm and heartfelt ballad that leaves you feeling refreshed and renewed. I think we have a new star in the making here! "Dawn of Peace" is exceptional from start to finish, and I give it my highest recommendation. Read more...
Raj Manoharan (www.rajmanreviews.blogspot.com)	The RajMan Review Peace is what it’s all about on this collection of eleven tranquil solo piano tunes by Lynn Yew Evers. The music is gentle and soothing, perfect for relaxation and getting away from it all. It is very melodic and intricately structured, making for a very fine listening experience. Evers, who performs both in her native Malaysia and in America, displays exceptional songwriting skill and brilliant musicianship on all the tracks. Although this is strictly a piano recording with no embellishment or augmentation from other instruments, Evers manages to maintain interest throughout with a variety of nuanced techniques that take the music in different and engaging directions. The subtle beauty of Evers’s playing is brought to the forefront by the excellent production of Grammy Award-winning guitarist Will Ackerman and his team at Imaginary Road Studios in Vermont. The recording is crisp and crackles with the warmth and immediacy of an intimate venue. This is a worthy addition to the catalog of solo piano albums out there, and both aficionados and casual listeners will find something of value here. Read more...
